- A Hot Stamped Foiling Imaging demo by Deanne Wortman
Current gallery exhibit of works by longtime Iowa City artist Robert Richardson, featuring his watercolors, drawings, political cartoons, and recent explorations of hot stamped foil imaging. In addition, Deanne Wortman will be doing a live demonstration of hot stamped foiling. Followed at 8:30 by Dreamwell Theatre‘s production of The Revolutionists, an historical fantasy about four women surviving the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror.
Robert Yale Richardson is an Iowa native and long-term Iowa City resident. In 2005 & ’06 he contributed a weekly editorial cartoon to the Iowa City Press Citizen under the pen name rytoonz. For many years he taught “Cartooning for Beginners,” a class for those 8 to 14 years old, taught through the Coralville Recreation Department. He worked as the lead graphic artist at Tidewater Direct in West Branch, Iowa for 35 years. Since his retirement he has been on the board of Arts Iowa City where he is their webmaster for their website. For many years he’s organized and facilitated the ArtiFactory’s life drawing sessions. Now his primary media is watercolor, although he has a growing interest in hot stamped foil.
