Art in the Afternoon is a monthly artist talk / workshop usually held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 1 pm. This series focuses on introducing local artists to the Iowa City community with a PowerPoint presentation and now with a display of their artwork in our gallery in the lower level of 120 N. Dubuque St., Iowa City, Iowa. It has run since 2016 and highlighted many local artists. The ArtiFactory started presenting Art in the Afternoon on YouTube during the time of Covid-19 and putting their videos on our YouTube channel and would like to continue that with our in person events. Exhibits will be on display for approximately a month and open for viewing during other shows, workshops and events held at the ArtiFactory. Artist receptions could also be scheduled.
If you are interested we would like to get an idea of your proposed presentation. Please fill out the form below. It is optional to include links to websites, social media or online stores used to promote your artwork. You will be contacted by email and asked to submit three to five digital images of your artwork. These will be judged by the ArtiFactory for inclusion in our schedule. Then, used to promote your exhibit and events if accepted. Our goal is to showcase you and your artwork and you as an artist. The PowerPoint presentation can include photos of your artwork, a biography and your inspirations. A demonstration of your process and techniques can give your audience a better idea of how you create your work. The ArtiFactory Gallery can display about 24 pieces or more if smaller in size. All framed artwork needs to have a wire hanger on the back. Some cases and pedestals are available for 3d work. We request a 25% donation of any sales. All sales are to be conducted between buyer and the artist. The artist will be responsible for all tax considerations
