Brian produces interactive furniture that operates at the intersection of architecture, furniture, body-scale and urban-scale. He approaches his work as functional small scale experiments for larger architectural applications. A native Iowan, he holds a Master of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art and has practiced in Iowa City since 2014.
Come and hear Brian talk about his life and his work. His presentation will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 15th, at Beadology, 220 E. Washington St., and admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

The Artifactory and Beadology are pleased to announce that our April artist for the Art In the Afternoon program will be Thom Hall, furniture designer and master craftsman. Thom resides in Mechanicsville, Iowa. He says of himself:
‘I’m a Southeast Pennsylvania native and have lived in Eastern Iowa since the early1970’s. I have earned a B.A. degree in Photography and Visual Arts from Franconia College, Franconia, NH.
When designing furniture, I look at it with a sculpture’s eye and I am happiest when working in a modern style.’
Come and see samples and slides of Thom’s work, and hear him talk about his life and his techniques. His presentation will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 17th, at Beadology, 220 E. Washington St., and admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
